Wesley Woods has a heritage of service dating back to 1954, when it was founded as a ministry for the elderly by the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. Wesley Woods is grateful for its longstanding partnership with the North Georgia Conference and particularly the annual Motherís Day Offering collected through its churches. Over the years, Wesley Woods has cared for hundreds of retired Methodist clergy members, many with meager savings and modest pensions who have benefited greatly from your contributions. Some are surprised to know that 75% of the residents at Wesley Woods require some form of financial assistance to remain in their homes each year, and over a third live below the poverty line. We receive the Mother's Day offering as the chief means in which we fund benevolent support at our ten different locations.
As older adults live longer, more are exhausting their financial resources and relying on Social Security as their only income. Some experience health problems that go far beyond what Medicare benefits will cover. Many struggle to afford simple necessities. Without the generosity of others, Wesley Woods would struggle to maintain our service and ministry to these residents, some of which have outlived their resources. Your gifts will help us maintain our mission to 1,800 people annually.
We urge you to please prayerfully consider giving generously to the Mother's Day Offering this year. You may donate through the Mother's Day Offering envelopes that are mailed directly to local churches, mail a check to the address below, or gift a gift here
